Yes, it would be an excellent idea because we can put a traveling notification on your debit card as some states are flagged. If your card does not work while you are out of town, call our office and speak to a Member Service Representative or call the number on the back of the card. Remember, the debit card does not work internationally.
There is not a monthly fee as long as you have a bill payed through this service every month. But there is a monthly fee of $5 charged for each month you do not use the service.
ACH is the safest way to pay your bills online. You will initiate the payment amount with the company you are paying on their site. They request the funds be transferred electronically to apply to your account. The Debit Card allows you to purchase items over the web easily but has limitations in some states. We do offer Online Bill Pay to our members, where you initiate sending the money from your account. Some payments will be transferred electronically when available and others a check will be mailed on your behalf. Mailing a check could delay the date payment is received with a company.

Typically an HR department will have a form you must complete. It will require our institutional routing number 281-581-144 along with your account number __________. Some HR departments will need verification of the account. A voided check will typically serve as verification. If a check is not available, a teller can give you a verification letter and a voided counter check to give to your payroll department.
An Address Change Form must be filled out. A Teller, Member Service Representative or a Loan Officer can assist you.
No, once you have joined OFCU, you can remain a member as long as you have an active account.
To remover a joint owner the account must be closed and a new account opened with the members you want named on the account. All members must be present when they are added to an account.
If you are opening your account(s) with a joint owner/co-applicant, they must be present during the enrollment process in order to validate their identity.
If they are not available, open your account as an individual and bring the person you want to add to the account at a later date. All members must be present when adding an individual to an account.
Our ATM network monitors debit card transactions and sends alerts to our institution when they find suspicious activity on an account. If they feel a purchase is questionable, they might call the card holder and verify a transaction. If a card is compromised, an OFCU employee will make a new card at the member’s convenience.
You can temporarily block and unblock your card via the Shazam Bolt$ app if you have misplaced your card.

In either case, please have ready your name, account number, your card number (if you know it) and the name that appeared on the card. Appropriate action will be taken as soon as you report the loss or theft.
Our mobile app and online account are secured by firewalls for your protection. We always recommend a member never shares their account information with anyone not authorized to use the account. It is recommended to not use public Wi-Fi internet access when logging onto your account, and always log off when you have finished. Never share your account information over the phone unless you initiate the transaction. Phishing, skimming cards, computer hacking is unfortunately something we all must be diligent in guarding our identity from.

A member can withdraw up to $500 a day using a PIN based transaction and $1,500 a day using a Credit based transaction. The total combined usage a day is $2,000 using your debit card.
The $25 balance is your membership share in the credit union.
Sometimes pledges or holds are placed accounts for various reasons; a deposited check hold, or a debit card transaction has not cleared, for instance. Share loans and the required $25 membership share are other examples.
